Introduction to WSIG

武昌船舶重工集團有限公司（以下簡稱武昌造船）隸屬于中國船舶集團有限公司，是我國船舶及國防工業的重要骨干企業。武昌造船歷史底蘊深厚，前身為武昌機廠，始建于1934年，是國家“一五”計劃時期156個重點建設項目之一。

Wuchang Shipbuilding Industry Group Co., Ltd (WSIG), a subsidiary of China State Shipbuilding Corporation Ltd (CSSC), stands as a pivotal enterprise in China’s shipbuilding and national defense industries. With a legacy dating back to year 1934, WSIG originated as Wuchang Machinery Plant, one of the 156 key projects under China’s First Five-Year Plan.

武昌造船歷經多次改革重組，始終堅決貫徹上級決策部署，致力于推動船舶工業快速發展。武昌造船現有資產總額530億元，員工總數5000余人，省部級人才23人，專業技術人才1500余人，高技能人才500余人，擁有1個國家級博士后科研工作站、1個國家級企業技術中心、3個國家級焊接技能大師工作室。武昌造船是國家高端裝備制造及高新技術企業，具備3萬噸級以下船舶建造能力，具備年產24艘民船、15萬噸橋梁鋼結構的生產能力。

Through decades of reform and restructuring, WSIG has consistently aligned with national strategic directives, driving innovation and rapid advancement in the shipbuilding sector. WSIG commands total assets of RMB 53 billion and employs more than 5000 staff, including 23 provincial/ministerial-level experts, 1500 technicians and 500 highly skilled technicians. WSIG operates a national postdoctoral research workstation, a national enterprise technology center, and three national-level welding master studios. As a state-recognized advanced equipment manufacture and high-tech enterprise, WSIG has the capability to construct vessels up to 30000 DWT, with an annual output of  24  commercial vessels and 150000 tons of bridge steel structures.

As a leading supplier of marine engineering equipment, WSIG fulfills its mission to Deliver Advanced National Defense Equipment and Create Material Wealth for the Society through landmark achievements in Chemical Tankers, Feeders, Offshore Vessels, Oil & Gas Modules, Public Service Vessels, Research Vessels, RORO and Multi-Purpose Vessels. In parallel, WSIG has developed signature products for bridge steel structures and hydraulic engineering systems, contributing to critical national projects such as the Hongkong-Zhuhai-Macao Bridge, Shenzhen-Zhongshan Link, Xiamen Third Eastern Channel, and the Three Gorges Ship Lift – with steel bridge construction capabilities consistently ranking among China’s top tier.
